Nigerian striker, Terem Moffi, has returned to scoring ways in dramatic fashion after netting the winner for Lorient two minutes following his introduction in their 2-1 victory over Paris FC.
The 21-year-old started on the bench as they shuffled the pack against the lower ranked Ligue 2 side.
But they were rocked back to consciousness 13 minutes into the game from a Moustapha Name strike and had to make 3 substitions in the 64th minute before they could respond from a Yoanne Wissa goal in the 72nd minute.
With the game headed for extra time, they called upon their highest goal scorer, Moffi in the 80th minute and two minutes later he responded to the call with aplomb by netting his side’s winner.
Lorient have now qualified into the round of 16, with their attention shifting back to the league where Moffi’s fine form of 5 goals in 7 games has dragged them out of relegation places to 17th.
They visit European chasing Monaco on Sunday at 13:00 WAT.
