Super Eagles goalkeeper, Francis Uzoho endured a torrid and calamitous evening as he conceded an own goal and collected a card in his side’s 3-2 away win over Olympiakos Nicosia.
APOEL were cruising by two goals in the 56th minute courtesy of two goals either side of halftime, but were pegged back six minutes later following a disastrous own goal from their goalie.
Their two goal advantage was restored instantly in the 63rd minute by a Joe Garner strike, but a 71st minute Vasilios Mantzis finish set up a grand stand finish where Uzoho was issued a late warning for time wasting.
APOEL now sit in 8th place, two points behind 6th placed Doxa in the Championship playoff spots.
The implosion denied the 22-year-old his 3rd clean sheet in 5 games but the win stopped a rotten run of 3 consecutive losses for APOEL, games in which Uzoho did not feature.
APOEL have lost 11 games this season, but none of those have come in Uzoho’s appearance, as the shot-stopper is yet to lose since his transfer to the Cypriot side last year.
