1- Master KG scores nomination at the 2020 MTV EMAs.
MTV announced nominations for the 2020 MTV Europe Music Awards with Africa’s biggest acts from South Africa, Nigeria, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo securing nominations.
After a whirlwind year, “Jerusalema” hitmaker and South African superstar Master KG is finally getting global recognition alongside “Scorpion Kings” Kabza de Small and Maphorisa who have all been nominated in the Best African Act category.
Nigeria’s Burna Boy, who recently released his landmark album “Twice as Tall”, and rising Afrobeats star Rema is also nominated in the category. Rounding up the list of African nominees is Uganda’s songstress Sheebah and Gaz Mawete from the DRC.
Globally Lady Gaga is in the lead with seven nods, including “Best Artist,” “Best Pop,” and “Best Video” for her duet with Ariana Grande, “Rain On Me,” which also secured a position in the “Best Song” and “Best Collaboration” categories.
BTS and Justin Bieber each received five nods, within categories including “Biggest Fans” and “Best Pop.”
Global star Burna Boy commenting on his nomination said, “A big thank you to my MTV family for nominating me again for this award and to my fans all over the world for listening to and supporting my music.“
Master KG who took the world by storm with his hit, Jerusalema, said, “Thank you so much MTV for this nomination in the Best African Act category at the EMAs. I’ ‘m so excited right now. This is a life-changing moment for me.”

3- Mzansi Personalities Nominated For E! People’s Choice Award.
South African personalities have gotten the recognition they deserve at this year’s E! People’s Choice Awards. Five Mzansi ZAlebs dominate the African Social Star of 2020 category and people have already started voting for their favorite.
Rapper, actress and poet, Sho Madjozi, Miss Universe Zozibini Tunzi, Emmy Award-nominee Thuso Mbedu, magician Wian van den Berg and model Karl Kugelmann are the five nominated celebs competing for the African Social Star award.
Speaking to some of the nominees was Kat Sinivasan but the three media personalities Zozibini Tunzi, Thuso Mbedu and Sho Madjozi were unavailable.
4- AKA excites fans with suggestion he may have bagged a movie role.

One fan asked AKA what else he has in store for this year, and aside from his new album drop, AKA hinted that there might be a little acting taking place in his future. Supa Mega is taking his celeb status to the next level.

Fans were on this movie role comment like white on rice. Supa Mega fans cannot wait to see their guy showing off his skills and are begging for more information. If this was just a plan, AKA better be hooking up a role real soon so that he doesn’t disappoint.
5- Cassper Nyovest Tested Postive For Covid.
In an interview with an American host Casper opened up about his ordeal.
“At first, it was just a scary part where we didn’t know what’s going on but we stayed home. And then I started training to prepare for this boxing match.” Said the award-winning rapper.
“The training was so hectic and just at the peak of my fitness, I contracted Covid19 In a meeting and everybody was social distancing and doing everything that we were told to do. Somehow I caught it and if I wasn’t called by the person who tested positive then I wouldn’t have known. I just had a little headache and I thought it was from something else so I went and got tested and I found out I was positive.”
Although he says he had mild symptoms he quarantined himself.
“I was isolated for fourteen days. And on the seventh, it was the only day when it got challenging. I had a hectic fever and my body was all over the place. I was hot and cold. Probably seven days later I was back running in the streets.
First I was running I could feel that my chest wasn’t okay. I didn’t have all the symptoms and it’s worse than just the flu. That’s how it affected me personally.”
Although he was fighting the illness and all his income was halted he continued to pay his workers. “But as an artist, it took away my livelihood. It took away jobs from the people that are around me. And I made a decision to still pay me, employees, even though no one was working have.”
